1. I am going to read 2 pages out of the Book of Mormon EVERYDAY for 365 days.
I did so great all year with this one until December... which is no excuse because A) I was done Christmas Shopping in the middle of November and B) It's the month we celebrate our Savior and I know that I should have been reading. But it was still a success, because I have not been so consistent at reading since my mission and will keep this one going for the new year.
I gave this one up early. I'm just gonna cross it off as didn't happen. I didn't like myfitnesspal.
3. I am going to attend the temple at least MONTHLY (that's 12 times this year) hopefully more.
This happened! The only month I didn't make it was November, but I went twice and three times several other months. This felt so great. I love the temple.
4. I am going to offer a true fast MONTHLY (that's 12 times this year). if not more.
This happened until I got pregnant and really even then, I only missed December. This was such a good reminder to me each month.
5. I am going to visit my Mom in Northern California and see San Fransisco with my family.
6. I am going to visit my in-laws in New Mexico and my favorite people in Deming.
7. I am going to apply for some insurance.
Obviously this didn't happen. After my gallbladder surgery I felt so good, James and I knew that we couldn't wait any longer.
9. I am going to share the gospel with 10 people.
This is one of the goals that was especially on my mind daily and while I didn't count I definately was a lot more aware of different ways I could share the gospel with all those that I associated with, including my surgeon and some of James' classmates that I associated with and others. It is something that I always need to remember.
10. I am going to make a blog book.
11. I am going to learn how to make bread.
Does one attempt that wasn't too bad count?? Maybe not. This one will stay on for another year. I'm sick of store bought bread and I would love fore this to be second nature like baking cookies is to me now.
12. I am going to be a really great Visiting Teacher. (100%)
I have loved the ladies that I visit teach and my partner. This was easy.
13. I am going to read 12 novels. (Luckily I just joined a book club)
I have a list somewhere of all the books I read. I think of all of them my favorite was Half Broke Horses and Austenland.
14. I am going to dance with Lucy daily.
15. I am going to sing to Molly daily.
Two failed attempts. Lucy prefers her diaper for now. Hoping that changes sometime soon.
17. I am going to take away Lucy's binkie. (I've got the whole year remember).
18. I am going to make several visits to St. George and see several people that I have been wanting to see for a long time. Namely: Naunie Nelson, Angie Drake, Marcie Jeffs, and the Denos'
20. I am going to play Pickle Ball with James Stewart
21. If the house is a mess but it's a nice day, I am going to always choose to take my girls to the park rather than clean the house.
22. I am going to try one new recipe (at least) a month.
23. I am going to go to a play with James Stewart.
We actually made it to a couple of plays this year. We saw Mary Poppins at Tuacahn and Billy Elliot at the Smith Center. It was AMAZING! So glad we got to go to something there before we moved from Henderson.
24. I am going to write to my sister-in-law who will be serving a mission at least twice a month.
I don't write every month but James or I writes every week so I'm counting it. We've only missed a couple of weeks the entire time she's been out.
25. I am going to visit my sister in Bountiful (in the summer).
I think we made it up there twice this summer. Double Gold Star for me.
26. I am going to swim all summer long.
27. I am going to call my grandma more.
I didn't call more but I visited my grandma everyday we were in St George this year, ... and that's a lot of visits.
28. I am going to update my family blog at least monthly.
I missed December.... Darn it! Don't know what happened this month, OH wait, yes I do. James started field work and we never see him any more, so there was no time to do anything I usually did.
29. I am going to add at least 12 new recipes to my cooking blog.
30. I am going to turn 30!
I was dreading this but only because I felt so sick and old all the time. Then I got my gallbladder out and I felt great again. And not 30. I guess I'm okay with turning whatever age comes my way as long as I don't feel that age.
All in all it was a great year! I'm happy with how it turned out as well. Look forward to the many adventures that are to come in the next year. Bring 2014! I'm
ready. This is how we celebrated. Not pictured: purchased a used old wii and played when the girls were asleep, watched a movie and fell asleep at 11:50 pm. We were done.
